FREE: RNLI Lifeboat Day, Fleetwood, Sunday July 24

A fun packed day to celebrate the great work of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

See the new Shannon class Fleetwood Lifeboat, Majestic 7 Lifeboat Sail past at 2pm, followed by a grand procession of around 70 local crafts.

There are also shore side attractions for all the family to enjoy.

Entry to the Esplanade, Fleetwood, from 11am until 5pm, is free.

FREE: Feast for Peace, Preston, Saturday July 23

The community meal and music event in Preston’s Flag Market will celebrate cultural diversity, following concerns about racist incidents since the UK voted to leave the EU.

Chefs will cook food that would otherwise have gone to waste, for free, with donations encouraged. As different community groups and cultures meet together, there will also be music from across the globe. The event is from noon until 4pm.

PAID: Wyre Fest, Lancaster, Friday July 22 to Sunday July 24

A three-day music festival at Wyreside Lakes, Gleaves Hill Road, with camping available. Musical acts include Trap 2, Morecambe band Sold to the Sky, The Fuse and guitarist Paul Connor. Tickets are £10 for adult campers for £8 for members and £5 for child campers. Child members are free.

The craft and gift fair at Assembly Rooms, Dicconson Street, Lytham, will be open on Saturday, from 11am until 4pm.

There will be a variety of stalls, selling plenty of eclectic things, such as type writer art, jewellery, vintage, aloe products, textiles, hot and cold drinks, cakes and much more.

People are invited to come along and see what treasures they can find to take home.

Entry to the fair is free.

PAID: Summer Sounds at Stydd, Sunday July 24

Stydd Gardens, in Stoneygate Lane, Ribchester, will be hosting some live musical talents including the Carribbean-style Pantasy Steel Drum Band in its vintage marquee.

Ben Rothwell and his guest Simon Sackey, both guitar and vocalists of popular covers, will also be performing at the summer-themed event.

Food is included in the ticket price of £25.

The event runs from 1pm until 8pm.

FREE AND PAID: Botany Bay Food and Drink Festival, Saturday and Sunday July 23 and 24

Barrica Wines’ Jane Cuthbertson will run a number of free mini wine schools and Oliver Johnston holding a mini beer school on Saturday afternoon, No need to book. Andrea Mellon from Chorley’s Duk Deli will demonstrate a favourite tapas style dishes live on stage. There is also a food hall, as well as face painting, cupcake and biscuit decorating, and stilt-walking chefs. On Sunday CBeebies Katy Ashworth of I Can Cook and children’s musician Mr Yipadee will be at the Go Bananas Food Fest Party. Tickets are £4.95 per person and must be booked in advance at www.botanybay.co.uk/FoodFestParty.

Wolf Entertainment’s and Desire Aerial Studios have organised a day of fun, with theatre, music, and fitness from noon until 6pm at Avenham and Miller Parks. Cirque Du Alice, the Contemporary Magical Urban Circus, will be performing throughout the day. There will also be face painting, a bouncy castle and hook-a-duck. FREE: Blackburn Canal Festival, Saturday and Sunday July 23 and 24

Eanam Wharf celebrates its bicentenary from 10am until 10pm on Saturday and 11am until 5pm on Sunday. The weekend will include music, art, activities, food, fun and games on the banks of the Leeds Liverpool Canal. There will be a chance to see how the canal shaped Blackburn, plus enjoy a Party on the Pond with live music on Saturday evening.

Wyre Council and the Friends of the Memorial are inviting families to attend Memorial Park, Warrenhurst Road, from 11am until 3pm, for an action-packed day. There will be new street theatre, circus artists, animal displays and lively puppets to keep children entertained. Other activities include face painting, a bouncy castle, tombola, arts and crafts and cake stalls.
