Best known as one quarter of Jonathan Ross’ illustrious house band, Parkin was a permanent prime-time fixture on UK TV screens for nine years as part of the BAFTA award-winning BBC show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.

He and the band have garnered a huge and loyal following, including celebrity fans Tim Minchin and Julie Walters and have enjoyed great success playing Glastonbury Festival six times, supporting Joan Collins on her one-woman show and performing on radio with the likes of Neil Diamond, Jimmy Osmond and ABBA’s Benny Andersson.

They have continued to perform regularly together throughout the UK and abroad.

Pantomime producer Paul Holman said: “Not only is Ian a wonderful entertainer but he has a warmth and sense of fun which captivates an audience and draws them into the excitement of the story.”

A seasoned pantomime performer, Ian has appeared across the UK in numerous productions including Jack and The Beanstalk, Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan, Aladdin, Dick Whittington and Mother Goose.

Lowther Pavilion will this year once again team with award-winning pantomime producers Paul Holman Associates for their biggest show yet with spectacular beanstalk, a dancing cow and plenty of slapstick silliness along with glittering scenery and costumes and breathtaking special effects.

The show will open on Monday December 7 and run until December 30 2020.
