The young fresh trio had taken time out last year to focus on making music for their album, which will hopefully debut this year and lead singer and songwriter Missy B says they were grateful for the studio time.

Since coming together six years ago the band have been inspiring fans with their own material and their unique urban twist on pop favourites.

New single 'You Know Where To Go' is already catching the attention of their loyal followers and despite the lockdown Missy said the band wanted to get their material out there and inspire some positivity through music.

the 29-year-old said: "Everything is so up in the air - no one quite sure what they're doing but I feel so lucky to have music.

"It's been strange for Cal and Trix too but we'd filmed the video in November - we had been working solidly on our music and have around 45 tracks we'd put together so we just thought we'll put a few singles out.

"Originally we were going to go for February, we held off and then changed our minds and thought now is a time people need something - lets get it out there for our supporters."

The new floor-filler is focused on empowerment at the end of a relationship and Missy says all their music is based on real-life situations and relationships. But she adds ‘You Know Where To Go’ is also a good party song for those weak moments.

“This song is about taking back control of yourself, not letting someone else dictate who you are and what you do. I was emotionally weak in a certain past relationship.

"But became strong by realising my worth. A line that best describes this is: ‘I’ve been living in your bubble, my head feels oh so troubled, but from now I'll be calling the shots!’. The general consensus is- If you don't like it, you know where to go!”

Group producer and fellow writer DJ Calibeats, 28, grew up in Lytham and the pair met Trix,28, originally from Bradford, after discovering he was living in Blackpool.

Missy, a former Bispham High School pupil, says: "It was strange how it all came together, we'd all been in different groups, performing solo - there was just a natural sync when we played together. It felt right and we've grown and got so much better from there. Writing our own music is what we love doing now and we're excited for the tracks this year.

"Social media makes a huge difference to artists right now just being able to engage with people, support each other and share our work - 20 years ago, artists wouldn't have found it so easy. So it's amazing we can do that.

"We're all just trying our best at the minute, some days are a struggle as with a lot of other people but just feel lucky I have my music."

One of the band's big musical highlights was playing the Switch On gig at home in Blackpool alongside Little Mix in 2014, not long after they had got together.

"That was just amazing and the biggest crowd we've played to, we were so fortunate to be involved and especially in our hometown."

Myth of Unity hope to release an album later this year.
