Singers by the Sea involves community choruses and singing groups in a special concert to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The event, at the Marine Hall, will feature performances from Fleetwood and District Choral Society and Shakespeare Primary School Elite Choir. Other groups include Blackpool Soundwaves Ladies Barbershop Chorus, the Lidun Singers, Blackpool Male Voice Choirs, Carleton Community Choir, the Capricorn Singers and Poulton People’s Choir.

The night will end in a spectacular massed sing of around 250 voices led by Alistair Mackenzie, a highly regarded St Annes based choral leader, musical director for the finale. It’s hosted by Father Geoff Bottoms, a popular presenter who is formerly of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Marton. The evening will also feature a short talk by Fiona Dundas, senior fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support. Tickets are £5 per seat from www.thecapricornsingers.org, or from members of any participating group.
