A further 48 Corona Heroes will have illuminated images of themselves included in a special tribute section along the Golden Mile.
The extraordinary Switch-On team will join Diversity’s Jordan Banjo and Perri Kieley tomorrow evening September 4 to pull the famous switch at a special virtual switch-on event to be staged in association with MTV.
Here are the names and faces who will help to 'Bring on the Light'
1. Switch On star number one
Dr Cupitt worked every day and most nights at the peak of the pandemic, spending only a few hours away from the hospital over several months. His constant presence provide encouragement and reassurance to staff and patients in the struggle against COVID-19.
2. Kirsty Jones
Trinity Hospice nurse Kirsty moved out of her family home for five weeks to continue working and protect her husband and two young children, who were shielding.
3. Switch On star number two
After moving out of the family home on April 15, Kirsty was only able to make daily contact with her husband and two children through Facetime calls.
4. Will Richie
The six-year-old from the Wirral was born with a severe visual impairment and suffers with epilepsy
5. Switch On star number three
During lockdown his parents took the opportunity to increase his exercise tolerance and launched Will’s Marathon Month. Inspirational Will completed 30 miles and raised more than £14,000 for the Wirral University Teaching Hospital Foundation Trust COVID-19 Support Fund.
6. Switch On star number five
Earlier this year, Jasper was presented with an “employee of the month” award for his services to the hospitals.
