Vincents, with two offices in Lytham, was planning to continue its support for the annual St George’s Day tea dance but, when the event was cancelled, asked how else they could help.

As part of their donation to help the venue re-open and stage its new Drive In Cinema nights, Vincents has been given 15 event passes.

Staff at the law firm have chosen to give all those tickets away to key workers as a small gesture of thanks.

It is hoped local people will nominate friends and family members who they feel deserves a top night out, in the safety and comfort of their own car.

Chris Mathews, head of the firm’s Lytham team at their Park Road office, said: “As long-time supporters of Lowther Pavilion we were concerned about the effect Lockdown would have on its future and were keen to get involved with any new initiatives to help the venue get up and running again.

“Happily, the team has done an incredible job of pulling together a new programme of Covid-secure events to draw in the crowds.

“We are delighted to be sponsoring the Drive In Cinema and want to extend our thanks to local key workers for their incredible efforts by giving away these 15 free passes. We’d like people to nominate the key worker heroes who they feel deserve a little treat this summer.”

A series of classic films and recent blockbusters are being shown weekly up to September at both Lowther Gardens, on Fridays, and at Mill Farm, Wesham on Thursdays.

The Vincents’ passes are for two feel-good musicals being screen at Lytham next month: Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again and A Star is Born.

A Lowther spokesman said: “We’re very grateful for Vincents’ support.”

Nominations can be made via the Vincents Facebook page and the winners will be announced on Monday, August 3.
