Two new episodes of the BAFTA Award-winning TV show will now be screened at 3.30pm on Saturday, in aid of The Lily Foundation charity, which funds research into mitochondrial disease and supports those affected by the condition.

A second screening, at 7pm on Friday, was added to the special showing of the hit BBC programme after tickets for the following evening, also at 7pm, sold out in minutes.

The episodes will be 'Car Share: Unscripted', and the highly anticipated series finale.

The show follows the relationship between supermarket workers John (Kay) and colleague Kayleigh (Sian Gibson) as they embark on a car sharing scheme.

The second series ended on an emotional cliffhanger last year as John failed to reciprocate the advances of Kayleigh.

Fans were dismayed when Kay announced he had no plans to pen a further series, but the Bolton-based comic announced special episodes - a special finale to reveal what happens next for the pair, and an entirely improvised episode.

Both shows were filmed last year.

Kay was set to visit Blackpool as part of his new tour this year, but it was cancelled for family reasons.
