Would you like to join the cast of Blackpool North Pier Theatre’s musical pantomime Peter Pan?

The timeless tale is coming to Blackpool North Pier this summer and you could be performing in the show.

Peter Pan’s producer is searching for children and young people to play key characters in this fully staged musical pantomime so if you can sing, dance and want to be on the stage then read on.

Peter Pan, J.M. Barrie’s classic story of exciting imagination and thrilling adventure, has been lovingly adapted for the stage by the award-winning writer of the hit musical Her Benny, Anne Dalton.

With Anne’s songs and script the tale has been brought to life as a new musical pantomime where pirates, red skins and lost boys pursue each other with gusto across the stage in a riot of colour and energy. All the familiar characters are there but you’ll also meet some new friends.

Anne is searching for lead child performers to play key roles such as Tinkerbell, Michael, John and Tootles as well as a junior ensemble (8 to 5 years olds) to play the lost boys, cabin boys, Indians (girls and boys), Neverland animals, Tinkerbell’s street dancing fairy friends, water sprites and flame dancers.

Older performers (16 to 21) are invited to support the visiting adult professional company as the adult ensemble and also fill several adult character roles. A variety of dance styles is necessary plus the ability to act and sing in ensemble.

Two large teams of musical theatre performers aged between the ages of 8 and 16, and one of 16 to 21 year olds will be required for the production. Would-be performers must check their holiday dates against show dates prior to audition.

Peter Pan will be staged on consecutive Wednesdays from July 25 for six weeks (final show date is August 29), with 2 and 7.30pm performances each day. Rehearsals will take place in the Blackpool area on Sunday mornings, commencing Sunday May 13.

“I am really looking forward to the auditions and working with a new cast of talented performers from the area,” says Anne, “And I have to say the facilities at the theatre for the production company and performers are awesome. I can’t wait.”

Auditions for Peter Pan will take place on Sunday April 22 at the North Pier Theatre, Blackpool.

Performers under 16 years of age are required to register at 10am and those aged 16 and above at 1pm. Auditionees are required to come in comfortable clothing, appropriate footwear and bring drinks and a snack. They should not bring backing tracks or prepared pieces.

Tickets for the show are priced £10 per person with a special family of three ticket priced at £25 and family of four at £30. Group discounts are also available. Book at the North Pier Box Office (01253) 623304, online at or via Ticketmaster on (0844) 847 2452,
