A young Christian-based theatre group is bringing its latest production to Blackpool and Thornton.
Riding Lights Roughshod Theatre Company’s new production, Take The World, is touring nationally and will be at Thornton Little Theatre on Friday, May 25 and St Thomas’s Church in Blackpool the following night.
Take The World, the company says “takes on our world of today, managing to destroy some modern myths and instilling an energetic spiritual perspective of hope.”
True and contemporary stories are intertwined with historical parables through sketches, music and comedy, for a show with a thought provoking edge.
Five actors – Joe Carron, Katie King, Michael Perkins, Peter Shaw and Stephanie Wrench – have teamed up to put their personal spin on contemporary life. Their views of the world and personal stories are used throughout, making for a unique and dynamic production.
The Riding Lights Theatre Company was established in York in 1977. It is an independent charitable theatre company with a Christian ethos.
Riding Lights Roughshod is the professional touring arm of the theatre company, created in 1992 to concentrate on performing in places where live theatre is rare but enjoyed and appreciated, including schools, prisons and community centres. Roughshod has been praised for using powerful original theatre to create a sense of fellowship amongst the communities it visits, reaching an audience of 70,000 annually.
