Call 999, comedy star Billy Pearce is breaking more than box office records at Blackpool Grand Theatre this summer.
The award-winning all rounder will notch up an incredible 999 performances at the venue on Tuesday September 20 and is then set to smash the 1000 show barrier a week later and become part of the resort’s entertainment history!
The Leeds-born laughter merchant’s Billy Pearce Laughter Show is at the Grand every Tuesday until October 25 a part of the theatre’s summer line-up and has now notched up more summer appearances at the theatre than any other artist in its history.
This follows record-breaking box office takings for his previous summer shows at the Grand and an exceptional week at the theatre’s box office in the first week of this year’s summer season.
Grand Theatre general manager and chief executive, Neil Thomson, said: “We’ve had explosive sales over the summer – one of the busiest for the Grand in many years – and it’s very heartening to see our patrons are embracing the return of the Grand’s summer season format.
“Billy is an extraordinary live performer and this year’s show is the epitome of summer live entertainment for all the family.”
Billy is joined in this year’s show by vocalists Neil Hurst and Emma Gilmore and the six strong Stardust Dancers.
Billy said: “I have a great affinity with the Grand Theatre. I can’t believe it will be 999 shows on September 20. When they told me I nearly called 999 in shock!”
