Blackpool Grand Theatre is drumming up a storm by offering £8 tickets for all full time students to see the world premier of percussion spectacular DrumChasers on Wednesday.
Featuring the voice of Stephen Fry as the narrator, DrumChasers, is the new show from the creator of international success Noise Ensemble.
Ten percussionists and dancers take to the stage in an explosion of sound and light with a story of rivalry, romance and rhythm in the dazzling world premiere of DrumChasers.
Powerful and energetic, moving and funny the new stage show is aimed at all ages by British composer Ethan Lewis Maltby and is a follow-up to his international hit Noise Ensemble.
Mr Bennett, a caretaker in an old concert hall, looks after the instruments stored within its walls. However, one night, something happens, something loud and something other worldly and he is transported to the land of the DrumChasers – where forbidden love struggles to be heard against the noise of rival gangs. It is up to Mr Bennett alone to settle this dispute and bring peace.
DrumChasers has no dialogue - the percussion does all the talking. And with an exciting, strong, clear narrative, it is accessible to all and promises an evening quite unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.
£8 tickets are available from 10am on Wednesday. Just show your student card at the Grand Theatre box office to book on a first come, first served basis for best available seats – mature students welcome. Subject to availability.
