Gisela is a teaching assistant and Craig is a driver for the NHS. But the pair are passionate about taking pictures which tell a story or capture a moment, and they have a particular love for Blackpool and the characters that can be found along the town’s famous promenade.

Gisela, 49, from Rochdale, visited her favourite resort to capture these images of pet pooches.

She has called her latest project Brits and Us Dogs, and hopes the images can go on exhibition at a suitable venue later this.

Gisela and husband Craig are both keen photographers but they are not professionals.

Brits and Us Dogs’ pays homage to the special relationship people have with their pets.

Gisela said: “These days everyone has a camera on their phone and I think people think it’s easy to do, but taking a really good photo is an art form.

“A big part of it is knowing when to capture that moment.

“There are times when the image you want can be gone in a split-second, so you have to ready!

“Dogs are usually great characters in their own right and you can capture some brilliant moments and facial expressions.

“I love the close relationship they have with their owners and try to reflect that.”

For this latest collection, she was keen to capture a famous landmark of Blackpool in the picture as well, be it the Tower or the Big One.
