The one league match played in the Gold Bond Blackpool and District Youth Football League saw Northgate beat Blackpool Rangers to keep hot on the heels of Kirkham in the under-15 beta competition.
Ethan Swarbrick replied with a a brace for Rangers.
The only other matches were in the Lancashire FA Cup.
In the under-13s Poulton put 16 past BJFFF Vipers with none in reply.
The goals came from Jamie Elliott(4), Josh Hampson (4), Declan Bond(3), Dan Clegg (2) and Harrison Bailey.
BJFF Blades (Owen Mason, Charlie Croasdale) beat Lytham Juniors 2-1.
Squires Gate lost their first match of the season 5-2 at Eccleston and Heskin.
Clifton Rangers lost 5-0 at Moss Bank.
In the under 16 Lancashire Cup YMCA beat Longsands.
The first chance of the afternoon fell to Pat Lonsdale for YMCA, but his shot was comfortably gathered by the ‘keeper.
A burst of pace by Ross Hart saw him reach the by-line and send a ball cross across the face of goa,l but no-one was on the end to convert the chance.
Defences remained on top until just before the break when Longsands took the lead with a free kick which beat the YMCA wall and keeper to put them 1-0 up at half- time.
YMCA started the second half in search of an equaliser but the visitors defended determinedly restricting them to long range efforts.
Jack Bishop, Harry Fisher and Bradley Jones all saw shots clear the bar and with minutes ticking away it looked like YMCA’s efforts would be in vain.
Eight minutes from timekeeper Billy Crellin launched a long goal kick down field which Owen Bridge latched on to, and his cross was parried by the ‘keeper.
The loose ball fell to the feet of Ross Hart though who blasted it into the back of the net to make it 1-1.
With the tie seemingly heading for a penalty shoot-out another late YMCA onslaught saw Bridge attack the defence but was tripped by an outstretched Longsands player’s leg and without hesitation the referee awarded a penalty kick.
Isaac Eastham stepped up and coolly stroked the ball home deep into injury time for YMCA to clinch a hard -earned passage into the fourth round.

Foxhall missed out thanks to penalties as a depleted squad with no keeper and only nine players for the first 20 minutes saw them go 2-0 down to Chorley Wanderers before they managed to pull it back to 2-2 with goals from Connor Finlayson and
Steven Hodgkinson, but it wasn’t enough, and Chorley went through 3-1 on spot kicks.
