Wyper cleans up in Scottish sprint

After qualifying with 11.73s in the heats of the 100m, she sprinted to a PB of 11.63s and finished ahead of Jenny Wrisberg (11.77) and Chloe Lambert (12.01).

In the the English Under 17/15 Championships at Bedford, Jasmine Carey won bronze in the Under-15 girls’ pole vault with a PB of 3.46m, while Amelia Shearman was fifth with 2.71m.

Nia Rutter collected three gold medals at the Mid Lancs League Medal meeting in the shot put (11.18m), high jump (1.55m) and long jump (5.05m).

Bradley Parsons claimed gold in the Under-17s’ 100m (11.6s) and silver over 200m (23.9s), James Nicholas won golds in the Under-15s’ 100m (11.7s) and 200m (24.0s), while Riley Nagle took home silvers in both sprints and gold for the 400m (58.1s).

James Smith won the Under-15s’ 800m (2:18.5) with victories also going to Olivia Hanby (Under-17s’ 300m, 46.3s) and Charlotte Jones (Under-15s’ hammer, 28.54m).

George MacKenzie (20.38m) won the Under-13s’ discus with Sebby Holt throwing the same distance and winning silver on a countback.

The Trafford Open Medal saw Connor Norman win the Under-11s’ 75m (11.39s) and 150m (22.98s), as did Scott Sinclair in the Under-15s’ high jump (1.60m, PB).

Nick Hume (20:42, PB), Reg Smallbone (23:28), James Boak (23:30) and Andy Hume (31:01) did the Blackpool parkrun, Steve Dunn (20:21) was at Lytham Hall, while Gracie Scott (8:32) did the junior 2K Park View parkrun.

The BWFAC ladies turned out for the Great Eccleston Fast Four with Bev Wright leading the way for 11th place in 25:56 and placing her second lady.

Laura Lawler (29:38) was 22nd as well as fourth lady and second vet 45, while Alison Titterington was 28th and first vet 60 in 31:12.

Tracey Sharrock (36:50) came home in 54th place, Nickola Walker (39:49) finished in 57th, while Amanda Fuller recorded the same time and was 58th.
