BOURNEMOUTH'S Brett Pitman is having a medical with Blackpool FC.
The 22-year-old held talks with Karl Oyston and boss Ian Holloway after a deal was struck on Thursday morning.
And Holloway is close to landing a player who smashed 28 goals last season, helping Bournemouth win promotion to League One.
The Pool boss has been chasing Pitman since January and will be pleased if he can seal the deal, especially as he is keen to add strikers to his squad.
The fee is believed to be 500,000, rising to 800,000 with add-ons.
The Seasiders went back in with an improved offer after their initial bid failed.
"He's having a medical as we speak,' said Holloway, when asked about the chances of snaring Pitman.
"It is just a rat race at the minute and we are one of many rats trying to get hold of him."
