FYLDE RU winger Nick Royle has retained his place in the England Sevens squad for the 2011-12 season.
Royle is one of 12 fully contracted players.
Royle will be free to play for Fylde when international commitments allow.
This is the second season the England Sevens players have been on full-time contracts and head coach Ben Ryan believes the competition for places will continue to drive up standards as the squad prepares for the HSBC Sevens World Series.
Fylde will check on Royle’s fitness prior to Saturday’s National One trip to Cinderford.
The winger picked up a hand injury during the season-opening 29-27 win over Jersey, in which he scored two tries, while this weekend’s opponents lost their opener at Coventry 21-15.
Among Cinderford’s recent additions is Rory Teague, who was on Fylde’s radar during the summer.
*FLEETWOOD RU’s intention to go for tries paid off as they scored a 64-0 win over Heaton Moor in the opening round of the Lancashire Trophy, the club’s first competitive match of the season.
However, player-coach Roger Banks said he was not getting carried away with the result as the opposition struggled to field a side.
Fleetwood play their first league match of the season away to Furness in the North Lancs Cumbria League on Saturday.
