FYLDE rugby club are poised to complete the signing of centre Ed Binham from Luctonians.

Binham impressed when playing for Luctonians against Fylde last season, scoring a try when the teams met at the Woodlands.

He trained for the first time with Fylde on Tuesday as players from the Woodlands club assembled for the first time in preparation for the new campaign in National League One.

Fylde coach Mark Nelson said of the new arrival: “Binham has played a lot of his rugby in the Midlands - he now has a new job in the Skelmersdale area and is moving to the North.

“He scored against us when he played for Luctonians - over the two seasons, they gave us our two toughest matches of the season.

“Luctonians beat us at their ground and they gave us a real run for their money when they came to Fylde before we beat them.

“Binham is a strong, powerful player and we are glad to have him on board.”
