Rugby union is taking centre stage for Blackpool secondary schools this half-term, with weekly tournaments for different age groups.
Last week it was the turn of St Mary’s Catholic Academy to host round-robin tournaments for year 9 and 10 boys.
Montgomery High School and Unity Academy also took part, and our photographer attended a cracking match in which Montgomery’s year 10 team beat St Mary’s by six tries to three.
Montgomery went on to win the tournament, with St Mary’s the runners-up.
The host school was victorious in the year 9 competition, in which they were undefeated.
