Fylde were clear second-best in this National League One encounter- they suffered a heavy defeat and their only consolation was that they picked up a four-try bonus point.

Fylde took the lead with an outstanding individual try by Anthony Bingham, goaled by Greg Smith after only three minutes.

Cambridge retaliated with a tries by Oliver Petriades and Stefanes Liebenberg, with Daniel Lewis adding a penalty and a conversion.

Jack Turley hit back with a Fylde try goaled by Smith, but Cambridge increased their advantage with a converted Mike Ayrton try.

Deep into first half stoppage time, Mike and James Ayrton rubbed home Cambridge's advantage with two more tries, both converted.

Fylde trailed 36-14 at half-time.

Three minutes into the second half, Chris Briers scored Fylde's third try, improved by Smith.

David Langley scored Cambridge's sixth try, converted by Lewis, who also struck a penalty of 77 minutes.

Fylde claimed a bonus point with a fourth try by Warren Spragg in the third minute of stoppage time, which Smith converted.
