Fylde RFC forward Dave Fairbrother has been banned for four weeks following a disciplinary inquiry.

The back row powerhouse was cited by Plymouth Albion for a high tackle made in a National League One clash last month.

The punishment, seen as a big blow to Fylde, is based on ‘new directives on contact to the head.’

His four match suspension starts with the home clash with Blaydon on Saturday - the following weekend Fylde have no fixture, while he will also be sidelined for the trip to Ampthill & District and the home clash with Cambridge
