Centre Stephen Briers finished his rugby career scoring a try with his final touch of the game.

He dodged in for Fylde’s eighth and final try of the match and was promptly substitued so that he could receive a warm reception as he left the field for the final time after 69 minutes.

The ovation was repeated at the end as he thanked the crowd for their support.

Other try-scorers for Fylde in their final match of the National League One season were Oli Brennand (2) Warren Spragg (2) Evan Stewart, Chris Briers and Ryan De La Harpe.

Front row forward Adam Lewis was voted Fylde’s player of the season and was honoured in the club-house after the match.
