NEW Fylde rugby club signing Dan Birchall has spelled out his reasons for quitting his former team Sedgley Park to come to the Woodlands.
Birchall said: “I am looking forward to being part of the Fylde squad for the coming season and am excited at the prospect of mounting a serious assault on the top position in National League One.”
Despite only being 23, the front-rower has already picked up a wealth of experience.
He has played for Sale Sharks and Manchester, as well as Sedgley Park.
Birchall (pictured) also had a five-month spell playing for Christchurch in New Zealand.
Coach Mark Nelson said: “Fylde have very good links with Lancaster Royal Grammar, who are also one of the club’s sponsors, and Dan was a prominent young player while at the school.”
