FYLDE rugby union club second row forward Paul Arnold has spoken of his decision to commit his future to the National League One club for a further two seasons.

He said: “The last three seasons have been the most enjoyable of my career.

“I hope that Fylde continue to progress in the same manner as during this period.

“We have a great bunch of players and a fine coach in Mark Nelson.”

Arnold recently made his 300th career appearance - he has played 79 appearances for Fylde, scoring 31 tries.

Nelson said: “Arnie is a fundamental element of the Fylde squad, on and off the pitch. He will continue with his coaching role and extend this within the Club.

“We hope to re-sign the rest of the current squad for the 2013/14 season in the coming days & weeks.

“They’ll be joined by a few newcomers who will strengthen the group of players.”

The experienced Arnold has played many representative matches for Lancashire, England Counties & the Barbarians, amongst others.

He has coached Lancashire Under 20s squad for the last two seasons.

Fylde Hawks suffered a crushing 71-15 reverse away to Caldy II in Bateman BMW Conference A.

In Standish Media Services Division One, Fleetwood II were another side to suffer a heavy defeat, 91-7 at the hands of Sandbach II.

In County Courier Services Division Two North, Fylde III lost 26-0 away to Tyldesley II,

Fylde IV beat Rochdale III 31-5 in Raging Bull Division Three North, but lost 44-10 away to Leigh III – Fylde V were defeated 57-13 away to Ormskirk II.

BAE Warton I, champions of Division Four North, beat Chorley II 100-0 – Fleetwood III lost 95-0 away to Rossendale III, while Garstang II lost 41-21 away to Burnley II.

Thornton Cleveleys II won 55-17 away to Colne and Nelson II.
