Fylde prop forward Peter Altham is leaving the Woodlands club to join neighbours Preston Grasshoppers.

A release fee has been agreed between the two clubs and provided the formalities were completed in time Altham could make his Preston debut as early as Saturday afternoon in the Hoppers’ home match with Chester in National League Two North.

Altham has been unhappy at the lack of first team opportunities with Fylde this season.

Altham has clocked up over 100 appearances for Fylde since joining them from Wharfedale back in the 2009-10 season,

He has made 13 appearances this season, often as a replacement for Fylde in National League One.

Altham has been part of the Lancashire team that won last season’s County Championship final, beating Cornwall at Twickenham.
