The gymnasts, here training outdoors at Lytham, now have a new base at BActive Warton

And the club’s success looks set to continue with a new training base at BActive Warton and most welcome financial backing from Salisbury’s Electrical in Wesham.

FCRGA committee member Jennifer Byrne, whose daughter Erin is a club member, told The Gazette: “It has been a real struggle. We had some issues with finding training venues, something that has been made worse by the Covid lockdown.

“Despite this we have kept our heads high and have recently had some super news that a local family business, Salisbury’s Electrical in Wesham, has chosen this difficult time to provide us with financial support.

“This is enabling us to buy a proper gymnastics carpet to train on – much better than the rolls of household carpet we have been using.

“And we have also secured new training premises at BActive Warton. Now we have new premises we are able to offer trials for our elite and development squads as well as providing new beginners’ classes.

“We have training sessions four days a week and hopefully the beginners’ sessions will help the next generation to come through.”

Salisbury’s Electrical is a family business formed more than half a century ago, selling, delivering and installing a wide range of domestic electrical appliances.
