The 19-year-old former AKS pupil, who won the two-lap event at these championships in Italy in 2016, had to settle for his second fourth-placed finish in Berlin.Having missed out on a medal by one hundredth of a second in the 400m on Thursday, Towers was 17 hundredths outside the podium places in his favourite event today, recording 1min, 53.57secs in the four-man final in the T34 category.Finland's unstoppable Henry Manni took 800m gold in a championship record time of 1.52.26.The medal-winning trio were exactly the same as in the 400m, with Towers' GB team-mate Ben Rowlings again finishing second to Manni in 1.52.95 and the Swiss Mitic Bojan (1.53.40) pipping Isaac to bronze.Towers, now based in Loughborough, won a gold, a silver and a bronze at the previous Euros in Grossetto, going on to claim 800m bronze at that year's Paralympics in Rio.
