The Blackpool schools netball league action is hotting up, and Highfield Humanities College welcomed the Year 8 and 9 teams from St George’s School to play two fixtures.
The Year 8 match was a close-fought contest which Highfield edged 6-4. Megan Hunter was outstanding for Highfield, while Yasmin Goldthorpe excelled in defence, making some crucial interceptions.
The Highfield Year 9 team won the league last season and showed why with a 17-0 win over St George’s.
Gracie Jones was named player of the match for her outstanding shooting, while Megan Hawley and Lucy Flynn also impressed.
Highfield Year 11 pupils Olivia Holmes and Chloe Aspey helped to umpire the matches to help with their GCSE PE course.
