TIGER WOODS has started his preparations in earnest for The Open Championship at Royal Lytham and St Annes, taking place in just over a fortnight’s time.
Woods fired a warning to the rest of the world with a win in the AT&T National title at Congressional for his 74th PGA Tour win.
Despite that, Woods has yet to convince the doubters he is back to his best but a Major win at the 2012 Open would go a long way to quietening his detractors.
Asked whether he thought he could win at Lytham, Woods said: “It’s going to be totally different shot making and prep.
“I’m going to have to start practising some different shots and getting used to hitting the ball a little bit lower, a little bit more flighted.
“It’s a totally different game playing links golf.
“But I still have to have the ability to get the ball up in the air.
“That’s something that we’re going to work on.”
