It’s been a busy year for Matt Lamb, who is the latest addition to the staff at the professional’s shop at Lytham Green Drive.

Matt is currently undergoing a Bachelor of Science degree in golf performance at Myerscough College.

After completing this part of his education, he is hoping to embark on a course to earn his PGA qualifications.

Out on the course it has been quite a season for Lamb, who is a three-handicapper, and has been a member at Fairhaven for 12 years, where he won the club championship.

He has also represented Lancashire juniors on a number of occasions and won the Lytham Green Drive Trophy.

n A strong field is building up for the MCB Tour Championship, which takes place at the Constance Belle Mare Plage course in Mauritius from December 13-15.

Among those joining St Annes golfer Paul Eales in rounding off the seniors season will be Colin Montgomerie, who has had a highly successful season.

The highlight was a six-stroke victory in the Travis Perkins Masters at Woburn, his maiden seniors win.
