Fylde golfers Phil Kelly and Henry Tomlinson missed out on qualifying for The Open Championship at Muirfield.
Also failing to make it into the Muirfield proper was former Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie, who did not make it at final Open qualifying at Gullane
The 50-year-old Scot, who played in 20 successive Opens from 1990, had high hopes of a first appearance since 2009 after an opening 69 saw him just one shot off the pace.
However, in the afternoon he returned a 76, which scuppered his chances.
Kelly, an unattached professional from St Annes who plays on the Alps Tour, had a two-round total of 150 at North Berwick, eight over par.
Amateur Tomlinson, from Royal Lytham and St Annes, shot 142 at Dunbar, two over par.
