Youth football round-up: Poulton and Blackpool leagues

The only game in the Alpha Gold division saw Tyler Anunan and Taylor Joyce score five goals each in rampant Fleetwood Town’s victory over Kirkham Blues.

Fadeiro Sheick scored four, Alex McLoughlin a brace and further goals came from Zane Seddon, Jordan Cunningham, Jordan Rankine and Dylan Alunan.

Lytham Juniors Home Heat were the big winners in the Under-16 division without even kicking a ball.

That’s because third-placed Foxhall beat Lytham’s closest challengers Poulton 1-0 thanks to a Lewis Sutherland goal.

And finally in the Under- 18s, Fleetwood Town gained ground on leaders Foxhall, who didn’t play, with a 6-1 win at St Annes.

Callum Cruickshank led the way with a hat-trick, while Aaron Smith scored a brace and Jake Patefield the other.

Last weekend brought the second matches in the Coulton Cup groups for Poulton and District Primary League teams.

A rampant first-half saw Foxhall score five goals in 25 minutes in their Under-15 group C game against BJFF Vipers.

Urquhart opened the scoring after 10 minutes on his return to the team, having been out for more than a month with a broken wrist.

Urquhart then became provider, with an assist for Cole as a nice one-two movement opened up the space for a decisive shot from 16 yards for crash into the net.

Dunning then got in on the act, providing a piece of magic as he won the ball on the halfway line, went past three opposition players and powered an angled shot into the far corner.

A solo effort from Urquhart, who twisted and turned to find space and score his second, made it 4-0.

Cole then powered into the box but was brought down. Urquhart took the penalty to seal his hat-trick on his birthday and Foxhall were in complete control.

BJFF Vipers pushed on to their credit and pulled one back with a 30-yard screamer into the top corner to make it 5-1 at half-time.

The Vipers keeper pulled off some excellent saves in the second half, tipping the ball over the bar and around the post on numerous occasions.

Cole did score his second late on from a long throw-in as he lifted the ball over the onrushing keeper with 10 minutes left.

In the Under-12 competition, YMCA overcame St Annes Yellows 9-0.

This tie had to be switched to Blackpool Road North after heavy rain had left standing water on the YMCA pitch.

The ‘home’ side proved too strong for their neighbours on the day and emerged comfortable winners, scoring goal in each half.

In-form striker Noah Mawene and Yash Passi bth scored several, with Kaiden Pirrie, Elliot Collings, Harry Gledhill and Ben Leigh also on target.

It was a similar story as the clubs met again in the U14 competition.

YMCA started off very brightly last Sunday and went 2-0 ahead inside the opening eight minutes against the St Annes Greens.

And they added a third moments later, when Josh Dolby Armstrong was through on goal and was brought down in the area.

YMCA converted the penalty and added three more goals to lead 6-0 at half-time.

YMCA’s domination continued in the second half and they added further goals to run out convincing winners.

The scorers on the day were Brogan Grundy, Jacob Grice, Ethan Goulding, Oscar Dugdale, William Allen and Marco Amin.
