Urwin set to be Fylde number one again

Urwin missed Saturday’s 2-1 win over FC United of Manchester last weekend with a groin injury.

Ben Hinchliffe took over between the posts that night and made a key save, but Urwin is set for a recall.

Coasters manager Dave Challinor told The Gazette: “Matt has responded really well to treatment. We are looking to have him back in the fold on Saturday.”

Challinor has high hopes too of a return to the squad for Caspar Hughes, who hurt a thigh in the recent match with Corby and was another absentee last weekend.

Since then, leaders Solihull Moors has suffered a 2-1 defeat against FC United, meaning the Midlanders’ lead is still nine points but Fylde now have a match in hand.

Challinor said he did not regard it as a shock that the pacesetters slipped up in midweek.

He said: “I don’t think any results in this division surprise me. There are no ‘gimmes’ in this league.

“If you don’t perform to the required level in this league, then you are liable to lose.

“We can say that Solihull Moors losing is a good result for ourselves, but looking forward we are only concentrating on what we do.”

Nuneaton arrive on the Fylde coast in fifth place in the table, looking to maintain their own play-off push, which has faltered of late.

The Coasters boss said: “They have had a bit of a wobble and the top half is looking different to what it was.

“It looked like six clubs fighting for five places a few weeks ago, but now other teams are coming into it, like Tamworth and Chorley, while Stockport County have also had a good run.

“I don’t think Solihull have anyone to play in the top 10 in their remaining matches of the season, but we have to get as many points as we can.

“If that is not good enough to catch Solihull, then we want to win enough matches to get us into the play-offs.”
