Trust Blackpool for a great Community Day

More than 400 people took advantage of the sunny weather to attend the annual Community Trust Day at Bloomfield Road.

Youngsters took part in a whole host of free activities, including ‘mega football’ on an inflatable pitch and a penalty shootout behind the North Stand last Saturday before Blackpool’s 3-0 win against Cheltenham.

The Community Day. organised by the Blackpool Community Trust, is an opportunity for families to not only get involved in fun activities but to also find out about the work the Trust does on a daily basis.

Ash Hackett, the Trust’s chief executive, said the event proved to be a major success.

He said: “This is a great opportunity for young families to get involved in a range of activities and to find out what we do. This is just another way for us to get in touch with the community.

“We’re expecting over 400 people to attend but it’s fair to say the nice weather has certainly helped. Last year we had downpours and that put a downer on things.

“But I’d just like to thank the community for coming out and getting involved in this event. We couldn’t do it without their support.”
