Town's Kyle is keen to continue his learning curve

The 21-year-old midfielder made his season-long loan deal from Championship side Huddersfield Town a permanent switch last Friday.

He will officially join the club on July 1 after he signed a three-year deal that will keep him at Highbury until at least 2020.

The deal is a huge sign of intent from Town, who are believed to have splashed in excess of £400,000 to beat a number of Championship and League One clubs for their young player of the year in 2016/17.

Dempsey was one of Rosler’s first signings when the head coach arrived at the club last summer.

The youngster praised Rosler’s knowledge of his game and believes he will only go from strength-to-strength under his rule.

He said: “I think the way the gaffer came across and the way he understands my game is only going to help me progress in my career.”

Dempsey, who started his career at Carlisle United before a £300,000 switch to Huddersfield in 2015, also praised chairman Andy Pilley and his team-mates.

He has already stated that one of the major reasons for signing was the club sharing his ambitions but has also credited the family ethos at Highbury for helping him make the decision to move permanently.

He said: “I remember the way the chairman was with me the first time I came in.

“He is such a nice man and has let me settle in so much and you have to give massive credit to the lads too.

“When I got welcomed in by the lads it felt like I had known them for years. The group is tight and it’s such a family club and that’s one of the reasons why I signed.”

And Dempsey already has a target for next season; scoring more goals.

The midfielder netted twice last term; during the 4-2 defeat to Bolton Wanderers and the last minute winner at Gillingham which ensured Town’s race for promotion went to the final day.

“It’s one thing I want to improve,” Dempsey said.

“I started my career at Carlisle and racked up 11 goals.

“This year I haven’t been able to do that in the way I wanted to. Next year I’d like to add goals to my game.”
