Fleetwood Town have signed Brighton and Hove Albion defender Adam Chicksen on a month long loan.
The 23-year-old left back is expected to go straight into the side to face Chesterfield tomorrow with Stephen Crainey serving the first game of a two match suspension.
Former Milton Keynes defender Chicksen has spent time on loan with Gillingham this season and Town boss Graham Alexander was delighted to be able to find a suitable replacement following Crainey’s red card last Saturday in Fleetwood’s win over Notts County.
He said: “He is a young player but has played a number of games in League One at MK Dons.
“Adam is now at Brighton. Stephen Crainey has a two game suspension so we wanted to bring a left back in. Adam is a good footballer, he has great energy and I think he will do well for us.
“We did a lot of work during the week to try and find a left back with the profile of what we wanted to do. We felt Adam would fit into how we play.
“We had to make a lot of phone calls to try and get him in. We are glad everything has been sorted. He trained with the lads today and we are looking forward to working with him.”
