Fleetwood Town return to full training today with boss Graham Alexander hoping to see old faces and new recuits gel into a formidable team.

There will be five new faces on the training ground, with Matty Blair, Jeff Hughes, Liam Hogan, Steven Schumacher and Stewart Murdoch all making summer moves to Highbury.

Town were in for fitness tests on Friday and Alexander was pleased with the results.

He said: “All in all the fitness levels were good.

“We had a few lads in on Saturday doing a little extra work.

“But the lads have kept themselves in good shape over the summer.

“The good majority are in the condition we would expect of them.”

It will be the first time Alexander’s new-look squad have trained together and the Town boss is hoping to see his new faces settle in quickly.

“It’s our first chance to see everyone together,” he said.

“They have only really had the morning on Friday to meet the lads.

“Now the hard work starts and we’ll get going and try and make sure they gel into the group.”
