It takes their record to 14 draws for the season - the joint highest alongside relegation strugglers Rochdale.

Doncaster, meanwhile, are only one behind on 13 meaning the two sides have 27 stalemates between them.

Pool come into today’s game on the back of last weekend’s 0-0 draw at MK Dons, a result Spearing believes should give his team-mates confidence.

“Going away from home and keeping a clean sheet is a massive thing for any team in the league, especially at MK Dons,” he said.

“I know they’re having a bit of a tough time down there but they are a good side.

“For us, we just need to finish our chances.

“We’ve had some presentable chances in the last couple of games where maybe we should have put them in the back of the net and picked up more points.

“But one defeat in nine is a record we’re very happy with, but we want to turn a few more of those draws into wins.”

Once Blackpool finish their game against Doncaster, attention will immediately turn to their trip to Oldham Athletic on Easter Monday.

“I’m looking forward to the double header,” Spearing added.

“We’ve got to get ready for a busy period because we’ve got a game on Friday and a game on Monday.

“It’s a big one on Friday first, we want to try and get three points, have a relaxed weekend and recover as quick as we can ready for Monday.

“We don’t really look at the league table or anything like that, we just concentrate on the next game and that’s Doncaster.

“They had a great result on Sky against Bradford in their last game so they’re going to be full of confidence and looking to come here and get three points.

“We’re all still fighting for points at this stage of the season, but we know if we keep working hard we can keep our run going.

“I think the lads are really enjoying their football at the minute. The gaffer has stuck with the same team and the players have started to gel and we know who is doing what.

“The squad itself is deep and we have a lot of lads fighting for places and I think that’s keeping everyone on their toes and performing well.

“Me and Jimmy (Ryan) have been working hard and we’re good mates off the field, so it works well and we have that understanding with each other in the middle of the park

“The gaffer has put us back in there together and thankfully it seems to be working. We want to keep that going until the end of the season.”
