The 23-year-old will join the Bloomfield Road club once his contract at Peterborough United expires and becomes Gary Bowyer’s second addition as manager.

Vassell joined Peterborough United from Bishop’s Stortford for an undisclosed fee in November 2013 and found the net on six occasions, with five of them coming in the 2014/15 campaign.

He spent last season on loan with Dagenham and Redbridge and Shrewsbury Town, facing Blackpool for the Shrews in February.

Vassell told the Seasiders’ website: “With how football has gone for me in the last couple of years, this is probably the most important decision I’ve made in football. I’m delighted to be here,” “I spoke to the manager about how he saw me and how he wanted me to fit into his team and I loved what he had to say.

“It wasn’t a hard decision for me. I want to come here, play well, win games, get promoted and score goals.”

Bowyer, who signed former Fleetwood striker Jamille Matt earlier in the week: “Kyle has some real power behind him and a great desire to succeed.

“He offers us a different option in attack and we’ll be working hard on the training ground to bring out the best in his performances.”
