Midfield ace Antoni Sarcevic has pledged to make Fleetwood Town’s League One dream come true.

The 22-year-old will make his Wembley debut on Monday in the Sky Bet League Two play-off final.

The former Manchester City academy youngster is currently Town’s top scorer and will be desperate to add to his tally of 14 for the season on one of football’s biggest stages.

“I can’t wait,” Sarcevic told The Gazette. “It’s everyone’s dream to play at Wembley.

“All the boys are up for it and we’ll get ourselves to League One. It’s not all about the champagne and stuff.

“We’ve got one more match, and we’ll go all out to win promotion.”

Sarcevic signed in the summer from non-league Chester FC, having won promotion from the Conference North last season.

He had previously had a taste of League action with Crewe Alexandra.

But nothing prepared him for the rollercoaster campaign he’s experienced at Highbury.

He made a dramatic impact in Graham Alexander’s squad and was named Sky Bet League Two player of the month for September.

Sarcevic turned heads, never more so than in the club’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy run, scoring with a superb strike against League One Carlisle United.

The change in fortunes isn’t lost on the Manchester-born midfielder.

He said: “I went over to my dad and my family after the game on Friday. I couldn’t believe it.

“It’s amazing they’re going to get a day out down there at Wembley.

“I can’t believe I’ll be a part of it, my first time.

“I’m going to relish it. I’m going to get the club to League One.”

In his short time at Highbury Sarcevic has become a fans’ favourite, admired for his attacking brand of football.

Now he’s calling for one final push from the Cod Army faithful to help Town seal promotion.

“All the fans came out on Friday,” he said.

“It was the biggest game with Fleetwood I’ve ever been part of but we need them again.

“They can get us over the line.”
