Rosler ready for set-piece kings

Northampton have scored 50 times this term, with 25 of those goals from dead-ball situations.

Justin Edinburgh’s Cobblers travel to Highbury on the back of a fine 2-2 draw at promotion-chasing Southend.

Dead-ball specialist Matty Taylor had a hand in both goals at Roots Hall and Rosler says his men will have to be up to a physical challenge.

Rosler said: “They have had a change of manager and got 10 points out of 15. They are a threat and we just need to be sure they do not pick up the new manager’s first three points away from home against us. I don’t think they will come here and let us play.

“I hope the conditions give us the chance for a decent football match because on Thursday the wind was crazy.

“More wind was forecast for Friday but at least we had some practice. I hope we can get the ball down and play to our strengths.

“Northampton have scored half heir goals from set-pieces, which is very impressive. They will have set-pieces on Saturday – you can’t avoid that.

“Matthew Taylor’s delivery is the best in the league from set-pieces. They also have a goal threat with three strikers, so it will be a big challenge for us. We will have to fight to get the win.”

That draw with Southend was Northampton’s first on the road under Edinburgh and Rosler says that result says everything about their upturn in form.

He added: “They drew with a team challenging for promotion and have won a few games at home. They have had a change of confidence and I always say the margins are not very big in our league.

“We have done as much as we could this week and we need to make sure the margins stay on our side by being focused, concentrated and doing what we do best.”
