Rosler delighted as Town secure place in FA Cup fourth round draw after holding Premier League side Leicester to a draw

Ash Hunter nearly secured a first ever fourth round clash for Town as he rattled the post in the dying embers but they had to settle for a draw with the former Premier League champions.Ex-Town hero Jamie Vardy made his fairytale return to the club he fired up to League Two in 2012 but only in the stands as he could not shake off a groin injury.Chairman Andy Pilley could not make the game due to holiday but managed to take a Facetime call from Vardy who rang him from Highbury during the clash.

Pilley will be back for the replay on the week commencing January 15 and it is hoped Vardy will be back to fitness for that game too.And Rosler says Pilley would have been proud of his young players' performance and the support of Town's 5,000 strong crowd.Rosler said: "The chairman, the most important person in this football club, was not here unfortunately."He would have been proud of the performance of his young team and proud of our supporters and the atmosphere they created."And Rosler was delighted with his side's performance. Rosler said: "It was very good."First half I felt we were very good in the shape, our pressing from the front caused us problems, they never could settle their play."We kept them away from the goal and started to look dangerous occasionally, second half my players showed a big maturity in terms of the pitch got cut up and we played a little more direct in the second half.caused more problems with corners and crosses and the last big chance when we hit the post with Ash Hunter."We did really well."It was a high level performance unfortunately we hit the post, it could have gone in and it would have been a perfect day."Ash Eastham limped off and Rosler says that was the only blot on the day with a Checkatrade Trophy game at Bury on Tuesday and a trip to Southend on Saturday before the replay game.Rosler said: "The only thing that worries now is another player on the injury list and the games are coming thick and fast."

Town's game was screened live across the globe after getting the 12:45pm BBC lunchtime televised slot.

It was the first time Town had ever played a competitive fixture against a Premier League side with the clubs staff working around the clock in the build up to the game to ensure Highbury was prepared to host the 2016 title winners.

And Rosler praised everyone at the club, not just his players for rising to the challenge as they now bid to topple the Foxes in their own back yard the King Power.

He said: "Our club is a very young club in its history, we are a very young organisation with a very young team.

"To go in today was a big effort, ask our head of media (Sam Duffy) what sort of challenges were put up to us today.

"They have never experienced anything like this and our people are getting only better including our players when we are exposing them to the big challenges.

"When we go to the Leicester City stadium then it is another big challenge and that is what makes us better."
