Robinson ready for tactical tussle with Rosler

Uwe Rosler might be on Karl Robinson's Christmas card list but there will be no love lost when Robinson's MK Dons visit Highbury tomorrow.

The rival bosses have done some verbal sparring in the past. They last crossed swords 12 months ago, during Rosler’s (pictured) short stint at Elland Road.

Leeds won 2-1 and Robinson said: “I think he rode his luck! Uwe is a top manager and I know him really well.

“He’s someone I think the world of and I think the respect is mutual.”

“Uwe will always have an impact. It will be a real tactical battle and hopefully we’ll do well.”

Town are seventh while MK are 17th, have failed to win this month – a defeat at Northampton followed by back-to-back draws with Bolton and Oxford.

But Robinson believes his side are in a false league position. He said: “After 10 games the league table is usually a good barometer but I don’t think it is in our case.

“If we’d scored the penalty at Bolton and one of the best chances I’ve ever seen against Oxford we’re in the play-offs, three points off the top.

“I’m not blaming those things but that doesn’t make us a bad team. I’m just using logical markers to show where we are – we’d be sitting on 13 points.

“No-one is happy with the league table but we’re happy with the performances. I’m not accepting it, though.”
