Pressley's sole focus is Cod Army

Steven Pressley says Fleetwood need to take care of business themselves and not rely on other teams as the survival battle enters the final countdown.

Fleetwood face Walsall on Monday and Crewe next Sunday and are currently two points above Blackpool and the drop zone.

If Blackpool lose to Wigan and Doncaster – who are three points behind them – lose to Crewe on Saturday, then Town will only need a point on Monday to retain their League One status.

If Blackpool win Pressley’s men could be in the bottom four come kick-off on Monday but he is solely focused on winning the final two games.

He said: “Of course we would love results to go our way but the reality is that it may not happen and that is why I am saying that our focus is solely on ourselves. If we take care of business in the last two games we will stay in the league; that will not change come Saturday at 4.50pm.

“We can’t rely on any other teams, we have got to see the job through ourselves.

“Whilst destiny remains in our own hands it is about us and we have to ensure in the remaining two fixtures we pick up the appropriate amount of points to stay in the league and ensure that, going into the last game of the season, we are in a position where destiny is in our own hands.”
