Fleetwood Town boss Steven Pressley says his side’s away form has not been good enough this season but hopes they can improve on that tonight and pick up more vital points as the relegation battle hots up.

Town have four games left of the campaign and their penultimate away game takes place at Millwall tonight but they have only won three times on the road all term and have drawn seven times.

And with the chance for 19th-placed Town to move five points above clear of the drop zone if they pick up all three points Pressley says a positive result could be a big step in their survival quest.

He said: “Our away form has not been good enough and it is something we must improve on. We have not lost a lot of games away from home but we have drawn far too many and we want to take a step to improve that tonight.

“It could be a big step to survival if we can pick up the points at Millwall. We had an exceptional performance against them (in our 2-1 win) at home and we can take positives from that.

“We have got a group of players that are desperate to ensure that this club survives in this league and the feeling in the group is very optimistic.”

Centre-back Joe Davis (ankle) has travelled with the squad and Pressley says Town are prepared for the Lions.

He said: “Millwall are a big physical side, they score a lot of goals from set-plays, they are an aggressive team that put you under pressure and they ask questions of you and if you don’t do the basics right against them they will punish you.”
