The left back appeared to be in some pain at the final whistle after the midweek game having been fouled in added time.

Bowyer revealed there were some concerns he had broken his collarbone, but they have since proved to have been unfounded.

Andy Taylor has had an X-Ray and the good news is that it’s come back and there’s no broken collarbone," the Pool boss said.

“So we just need that to settle down before we can investigate it further in terms of if it’s ligament or whether there’s a bit of muscular damage.

“We’re pleased with that because after losing Jim (McAlister) last weekend, we didn’t want to lose another to a break so we hope it settles down quickly."

The only other fitness doubt is over midfielder Brad Potts, who is desperate to return to action against Carlisle on Saturday to play against his former side.

The winger missed the midweek game having been brought off at half-time against Colchester last weekend as a precaution.

Bowyer added: “We certainly hope he can be available but it’s about giving it time to settle.

“We’ve got to be sensible with him, which we were on Tuesday. With 18 games left we want him to be available for all 18 so it wasn’t worth pushing him on Tuesday and losing him for any longer.”
