A second half Joe Garner hat-trick spoiled Fleetwood’s derby day party at Deepdale
Fleetwood, much changed enjoyed a dream start - ahead within a minute.Town haven’t made much of corners so far this season.
What a place to start.
Schumacher’s cross should have been bread and butter for North End but somehod Stephen Jordan was allowed to rise unmarked in the middle of the goal to head home.
And it soon got better.
Sarcevic broke down the right his cross looking for Josh Morris but Scott Laird got a boot in first, turning the ball past Jamie Jones.
North End seemed to have forgetten it was a Lancashire derby day, Fleetwood with all the first half fire.
That changed after the break.
Three changes before the hour brought life to Simon Grayson’s side and a second half hat-trick from Joe Garner wrapped up the points.
The first came as a corner was only half cleared Neil Kilkenny providing the cross for Garner to head home.
Four minutes later North End were level, a beautiful curled cross from the left tucked home by the in form striker.
Town were from then on fighting a rearguard action.
And with 12 minutes remaining the resistance cracked, Garner with a superb volley inside the box to break Fleetwood spirits.
