Plymouth chasing 21st win of season against Pool

Plymouth Argyle boss Derek Adams said he wants to pick up the club's 21st win of the season against Blackpool on Tuesday - but admits it will be a tough task.

Argyle notched their 20th league win of the season with an impressive 2-0 victory at promotion rivals Carlisle United on Saturday.

Adams' men are flying high in the League Two table in second place and are able to boast an eight-point gap to Luton Town in fourth.

Speaking after the weekend’s match, manager Derek Adams said a 21st victory on Tuesday against Blackpool is already at the top of his agenda.

“We’ve won the most games in the league, which is 20, and I think from that point of view it shows you how well we’ve done,” Adams said.

“You look at this league; it’s a difficult league to do that in. There’s only ourselves and Doncaster who have been able to do that so far. So we’ve put ourselves in a very good position.

“When you’re at home, you want to keep that going. It’s a difficult game against Blackpool because they’re a side who are trying to push into those play-off positions. I thought they played very well at the start of the season.”

Plymouth come into the game in decent form, having won three, drawn three and lost one in their last seven games.
