MATCH REPORT: Blackpool 1-1 Accrington Stanley

Here's how Pool's players rated:

Mark Howard - 8

Made an outstanding double save and was unlucky to concede at the death and not keep a clean sheet.

Michael Nottingham - 7

Never looked like being beaten at the back and was always a threat going forwards. Should have done better with a couple of chances.

Ben Heneghan - 6

Made a vital block in the first half to deny Stanley taking the lead but let Hughes go unmarked for their goal.

Paudie O’Connor - 6

Lost a few aerial duels but otherwise solid. Dealt well with Stanley’s main attacking threat Billy Kee.

Marc Bola - 7

Defended well when he needed to, used his pace and strength. Also helped Delfouneso in attack to make 2v1 situations.

Ollie Turton - 7

Ran his socks off and always looked to play forward. Did very well in midfield but can’t be relied on to create.

Jay Spearing - 6

Moved the ball well at times and even came close to scoring with a volley that went just wide.

Jordan Thompson - 8

Hugely impressive. Ran the show in midfield and helped a create a number of chances with his set-piece deliveries.

Nathan Delfouneso - 7

Scored the goal and used his pace and trickery to his advantage. However should have been more clinical in front of goal.

Joe Dodoo - 6

Came close on a couple of occasions and should really have scored in the first half when he missed a gilt-edged chance.

Mark Cullen - 6

Never really tested Ripley in goal but was able to hold the ball up well and wait for his teammates to join him up the pitch.

Subs used

Liam Feeney - 6

For Cullen, 71

Mostly left to chase for lost causes as Accrington piled on the pressure at the end. Looks good with his feet and pacey.

John O’Sullivan - 6

For Bola, 71

No noticeable impact on the game either way. Brought on at a time when Stanley were beginning to up the ante.

Armand Gnanduillet - 6

For Dodoo, 79

Helped defensively, heading clear on a couple of occasions and also came close with a header at the other end.
