It was a record-breaking evening for the Coasters with midfielder Bradley Barnes notching five goals.

Fylde knew that this was the perfect opportunity to increase their goal difference against a side yet to win a league game this season and they did just that with the first of Barnes’ goals coming just 24 seconds into the game.

The second goal came in first-half stoppage time from Harry Winter but in the second half, the Coasters scored eight more without reply, with the pick of them coming from Danny Lloyd in the final minute to make it double figures.

However, the turning point was surely the sending off of defender Warren Gaskin for the home side with 29 minutes gone as he brought down Lloyd.

Brad Barnes grabbed his second and third goals within minutes of the second-half kick-off.

But with 65 minutes the fifth goal arrived when Mike Barnes was played in with a lovely weighted ball and he expertly beat the goalkeeper one-on-one.

Brad Barnes had his fourth and Fylde’s sixth – Mike Barnes unleashed a shot at goal which allowed Brad to get a foot to six yards out and deflect it in.

And it wasn’t over there for Brad – Fylde’s seventh arrived on 72 minutes as Brad was on hand to tap in his fifth,.

The eighth goal wasn’t far behind as substitute Luke Denson raced unleashed a bullet of a shot which sailed into the top corner.

Andy Russell then got in on the act with eight minutes remaining when he headed in Mike Barnes’ corner to make it 9-0 but the final goal from Lloyd was certainly the pick of the bunch.

Fylde travel to Rushall Olympic on Saturday.
