Andy Gray and Richard Keys might not approve but Blackpool referee Natalie Walker is going from strength to strength.

Miss Walker, who began refereeing at the age of 15 and has officiated at Premier League games and in the Women’s FA Cup Final, was in charge the other night when Fleetwood reserves beat Mossley 1-0.

And whatever the likes of Gray and Keys make of female officials, Miss Walker – who became a ref because it paid more than doing a paper round – is proving that gender doesn’t matter.
